#NMCG2022 – You are all invited
In a statement issues today by Paradigm Initiative (PIN) a social enterprise that builds ICT-enabled support systems and advocates for digital rights to improve the livelihoods of under-served young Africans.
The statement stated that on behalf of EiE Nigeria, Paradigm Initiative (PIN) and BudgIT, we are pleased to invite you to the 4th bi-annual and pan-African ‘New Media, Citizens & Governance Conference’ (NMCG) on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Center, Abuja.
NMCG focuses on the connectedness of new media and governance with citizens as the nexus and the theme for this year’s edition is Protecting Digital Rights in Closing Spaces. Some of the confirmed speakers include Anriette Esterhuysen (Outgoing Chairperson, Multistakeholder Advisory Committee of the Internet Governance Forum), Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri (ED, Spaces4Change), Nompilo Simanje (Legal and ICT Policy Officer, Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA)), Chioma Agwuegbo (ED, TechHerNG), Samson Itodo (ED, Yiaga Africa), Wilson Macharia (Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria), Gad Peter (ED, CLEEN Foundation), Anthony Okechukwu Ojukwu, SAN (Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)) and Cheta Nwanze (Lead, SBM Morgen).

EiE was an integral part of the #OccupyNigeria movement in 2012 and is very active in the #OpenNASS campaign. 2020 was EiE’s 10th anniversary and it has continued to drive the #OnePerson campaign to reinforce its belief that one person can make a difference in building a better society.
